Chinese common name: benzophenone
Common name in English: Metrafenone
Compound name: 3'-bromo-2,3,4,6'-tetramethoxy-2',6-dimethylbenzophenone
CAS accession number: 220899-03-6
Molecular formula: C19H21BrO5
Relative molecular weight: 409.27
Physical and chemical properties: The original drug is white to off-white crystals, with a slight musty smell. Melting Point: 99.2~100.8 °C, Vapor Pressure: 1.53×10-4 Pa(20 °C); The solubility in water (mg/L, 20 °C) was: 0.552 (pH 5), 0.457 (pH 7), 0.457 (pH 9). Solubility in organic solvents (g/L, 20 °C): acetone 403, acetonitrile 165, dichloromethane 1950.
Mechanism of action and use: It mainly inhibits the spore germination of powdery mildew and controls the spread of the disease by interfering with the development and formation of attachment cells during spore germination of pathogenic bacteria. It can effectively control the harm of powdery mildew and has obvious preventive and therapeutic effects.
Benylone has several times higher bactericidal activity than pyrimeclic amine, and has no cross-resistance to those inhibitors with dimethylation and aniline pyrimidine fungicides, and can be used for the prevention and control of powdery mildew in cereals, grapes, cucumbers, beans, strawberries and other crops.
